8.46kW Solar Electric System
Innovative Power Systems installed this 8.46kW solar electric system in Winona, Minnesota in 2010. IPS expects this system to produce about 10,000kWh of electricity on average per year. Producing 10,000kWh of electricity annually from coal emits about 20,000 pounds of carbon dioxide. Preventing this much carbon dioxide from being released to the atmosphere is equivalent to adding 1,000 trees to our forests. Over a 30-year span, IPS expects this system will offset 600,000 pounds or 300 tons of carbon dioxide.
