Adaptability is a strong suit for IPS; given project parameters we can design a system to fit on almost any structure. At Fred Holasek Greenhouses IPS engineered a racking system to mount on top of a pole barn. This 48 panel system will provide an estimated 14,500 kilowatt hours per year for the facilities. Producing 14,500kWh of electricity annually from coal emits about 29,000 pounds of carbon dioxide. Preventing this much carbon dioxide from being released to the atmosphere is equivalent to adding 1,450 trees to our forests. Over a 30-year span, IPS expects this system will offset 870,000 pounds or 435 tons of carbon dioxide. Thanks to government and Xcel Energy incentives this system should pay for itself in less than 5 years!
