Shalom Hill Farm
Innovative Power Systems installed this 20kW Jacobs wind turbine in Windom, MN in 2006 at Shalom Hill Farm. Shalom Hill Farm is a non-profit education and retreat ministry in a beautiful prairie setting in southwestern Minnesota. Located in one of the best wind regimes of Minnesota, IPS expects the system will produce over 30,000kWh per year of electricity. Producing 30,000kWh of electricity annually from coal emits about 60,000 pounds of carbon dioxide. Preventing this much carbon dioxide from being released to the atmosphere is equivalent to adding 3,000 trees to our forests. Over a 30-year span, IPS expects this system will offset 1,800,000 pounds or 900 tons of carbon dioxide.
