Wedge Co-Op
Innovative Power Systems installed this solar hot water system in 2001 in Minneapolis for The Wedge Co-Op, a destination spot for many in south Minneapolis. (13) 4’x8’ solar thermal collectors are mounted on the roof and heat a single solar storage tank. The solar storage tank provide solar preheated water for a standard gas water heater. The hot water is then used for the deli’s hot water needs. The system offsets about 1,000 therms of natural gas per year.
