Our Green Commitment
Like most solar companies, we tick many boxes to be considered green-minded just by doing our day-to-day installation work, but our commitment to sustainability extends far beyond our rooftop crews. We’ve implemented environmentally conscious practices across every aspect of our business.
Our office is home to a 20kW solar array and electric vehicle charging stations available to clients and employees. Every lighbulb has been replaced with low-voltage LED lights and our new lobby facade was constructed with local reclaimed wood.
In the field, we couple solar gardens with pollinator-friendly plants and apiaries. In the community, we sponsor local environmental and renewable energy nonprofits and events, including hosting our first annual Solstice Solarbration Fundraiser in 2019, which raised over $4,000 for good causes.
This company-wide sustainability push resulted in us being named the ‘Greenest Contractor in the Nation’ by Solar Power World Magazine.
Turning Solar Into Saplings
Climate change can’t be solved without fully using the power of forests to help capture and store carbon dioxide emissions generated by human activity. More than 14 percent of U.S. carbon emissions each year are absorbed by our forests, and there is potential to grow this natural carbon sink by restoring our forests and planting more trees.
American Forests is the oldest national conservation organization in the country. They have been working to restore threatened forest ecosystems and inspire people to value and protect urban and wildland forests for over 140 years.
Expanding the tree canopy of our nation’s forests will improve the quality of life for residents and make our communities more sustainable, beautiful and livable. We’re honored to be working with a great organization like American Forests to help make this happen!
Take the RE100 Pledge
RE100 is a collaborative, global initiative uniting more than 100 influential businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity, working to massively increase demand for – and delivery of – renewable energy.
Companies joining RE100 are strongly encouraged to set a public goal to source 100% of their global electricity consumption from renewable sources by a specified year. They disclose their electricity data annually, and RE100 reports on their progress.
Many companies you know have committed to have 100% clean energy through the RE100 pledge.
Keeping an Eye On CO2
PPM means “parts per million.” It’s the unit scientists use to measure the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. Today, experts measure the earth’s PPM CO2 at 410.79 PPM, which is the highest ever recorded. Most scientists agree that increased CO2 in the atmosphere resulting from the burning of fossil fuels is causing the majority of global warming. As a result of this, sea levels are rising, natural landmarks are being destroyed, and many species are dying out.
One way to combat rising CO2 levels is to switch to a renewable energy source like solar power. Using solar power can reduce air and water pollution along with cutting down on hazardous waste produced by coal-fired power plants.
